We’ve shot families on grass, on gravel, on the steps of heritage buildings, but nothing quite compares to shooting on a boat.

A yacht photoshoot also gives you a good mix of photos: candid, relaxed moments on the jetty and marina before boarding, and a completely different set once you’re out on the water. On land, you get the family walking together, waiting, chatting, all the small in-between moments. Once aboard, the setting opens up into an open bow, a sheltered cabin, a wide sun deck, all within the same shoot. It also turns a photoshoot into an occasion, a small adventure the whole family remembers, not just a session they sat through.

The Sun Deck
There’s a reason every yacht shoot starts here. Seated at the very front of the boat, wind in your hair, the wake fanning out ahead and the deck curving away beneath you, it’s the shot everyone wants and no location on land can fake.

Once the boat is properly underway, the wind picks up here more than anywhere else on board. We like to shoot this early, while everyone’s still fresh and the light is soft. It’s also usually the moment everyone stops performing for the camera and starts genuinely enjoying themselves, which makes for the best frames of the whole shoot.
Below Deck & The Cabin
Not every frame needs open sky. Stepping below deck, warm wood interiors, portholes, and softer, filtered light give a completely different, more intimate mood, a nice contrast to the breezy, wide-open shots up top.

The cabin is also a good spot to slow the pace down. It’s often where the smaller celebration touches happen too, a quiet toast, tucked away from the wind and glare up top.

Do we need to charter the yacht ourselves?
Yes, you’ll need to charter the yacht yourself and book us as the photographer for the session.
How much does an outdoor photoshoot usually cost?
Our standard weekday outdoor package is a 1.5-hour session for 4 pax at $540. Additional hours are available at an extra fee. Do chat with us about your specific package’s pricing and duration.
What should we wear?
Light, breathable fabrics that move well in the wind tend to photograph best. Flowy dresses, linen shirts, and soft colours all work nicely against the sea and sky. We’d avoid anything too stiff, heavy, or easily blown out of shape, and recommend bringing a light layer in case it’s breezy once the boat picks up speed.
Is it safe for young children?
Yes, all our yacht partners provide life jackets sized for children, and our photographers are happy to work at a pace that suits younger kids, including breaks below deck if needed. That said, we’d recommend parents keep a close eye on little ones near railings and open decks throughout the shoot.
What happens if someone gets seasick?
The waters around Sentosa Cove are generally calm, but if motion sickness is a concern, we suggest a light meal beforehand and, if needed, seasickness medication taken ahead of time. Staying on deck in the fresh air, rather than below, also tends to help.
What if it rains on the day?
Singapore’s weather can be unpredictable, so we always keep an eye on the forecast in the days leading up to the shoot. Depending on conditions, we may reschedule or shift timing slightly to work around a passing shower. Do chat with us about your specific package’s rescheduling policy.
