Every session includes a professional photographer team with over 75 years of experience in the portrait industry, studio assistants, guest lounge and refreshments, personalised posing and direction, wardrobe suggestions, and the option for professional hair and makeup.
How It Works
What To Expect for Your Cake Smash Photoshoot Experience
1. Book a Session – submit your enquiry here, WhatsApp us or Email us.
2. Pre-Shoot Planning – we’ll contact you to discuss the photoshoot details, wardrobe advice, how to prepare your child, what to bring, what to look out for.
- Babies can react negatively to birthday cakes, especially if it’s their first interaction with it. You can gently guide your baby’s hand towards it and let them explore the texture on their own first.
- To avoid a tearful birthday cake smash, we recommend slowly introducing your baby to cake textures and tastes, starting with a tiny bit of cake.
- Start practicing prior to the shoot date. This way, when it’s time for the cake smash, it’ll be a much more enjoyable experience for baby!
3. On the Day – arrival at studio, comfortable lounge and changing rooms, meet your photographer, shoot begins in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, outfit changes (if preferred).
- Do also bring along their favourite snacks and place them on the cake to attract their attention.
- To put them at ease, we suggest packing their favourite soft toys or playing their favourite songs during the photoshoot.
- Cake smashing can get messy, bring a change of clothes for baby, and for parents too! There are no shower facilities in the studio but you are welcome to use our guest lounge and changing rooms after the photoshoot.
4. Post-Production, Keepsakes & Delivery – we’ll be in contact for selection once the photos have been processed, retouch, decide on fine-art prints/albums/gifts, set a date for viewing.
