With over 15 years behind the screen, Rina discovered her love for digital artistry the moment she realised she had a natural ability to transform images. What began as curiosity soon became a craft she was drawn to, and one she has continued to refine with care and intention over the years.
She naturally gravitated towards portraits, beauty, and fashion, where her strong sense of taste and attention to detail shine through. Rina has a keen eye for the subtle details that elevate an image, and she takes great satisfaction in the before-and-after moment when everything comes together seamlessly. What sets Rina apart is her instinctive sense of balance, knowing exactly how far an edit should go to feel polished yet natural. Her work is thoughtful, refined, and never overdone.
Outside of work, she enjoys unwinding with her fluffy Pomeranian, Ball Ball, who keeps her company and reminds her to take a break from the screen.
What’s your philosophy when editing?
My approach is simple: enhance what’s already there, don’t replace it. I want the final photo to feel like a polished, glowing version of the real moment, not a different one.
What’s something you never do when retouching?
Over-edit to the point where an image starts to look artificial. As soon as a photo stops looking like a real, natural moment, I know I’ve gone too far.
What’s the biggest misconception about photo editing?
The common misconception is that editing is about correcting flaws. In reality, most of the work is about refining and enhancing what’s already good in an image.
What detail do you always notice first?
Lighting and skin tone. Getting these right early on sets the foundation for everything else in the edit.
What’s the most satisfying part of your work?
Seeing a raw photo transform into something a family will print, frame, and keep. That’s the most rewarding part of the process.
