What do you notice first about someone when they step into your studio?
Their energy and expression! That’s the first thing I pick up on. It tells me how to make them feel comfortable right from the start.
What’s your superpower as a photographer?
Connecting with families, that’s my thing. I build a natural rapport with everyone, from the kids to the grandparents, and that’s what makes the shoot feel effortless for them.
Which type of session makes you happiest?
Seeing a family lose it laughing at one another is my favourite thing to witness. It means they’ve forgotten the camera’s even there, and that’s when the magic happens.
How do you help someone who says, “I’m awkward in front of the camera”?
I show them the photo right away and reassure them. Once they realize they actually look good, that awkwardness just melts away.
What’s a photo you’re most proud of, and why?
An outdoor shoot with a client and his car. it ended up all over his social media and in his photo book. Knowing it became something he wanted to keep showing off means a lot to me.
Describe your shooting style in one sentence.
Playful and present. My goal with every click is to capture their moment, exactly as it happens.
